Since its inception, Co-operatives have shown their usefulness and effectiveness in dealing with economic crises, as they were born out of the hardships resulting from the industrial revolution in the 1840’s and in modern times, the economic challenges brought about by unprecedented events comparable to COVID-19. We view this current crisis as an opportunity for reflection, by both the institution and its shareholders. We are confident that our sound financial practices, coupled with our core values of self-help, self-responsibility, equality, equity, and solidarity, as well as our ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility and caring for others, will help us overcome the novelty of the modern era.

The Board of Directors, Management and Staff extend our gratitude to all members for their support in helping us reach this milestone.

We take this opportunity also to remember our founders, those who have passed away and those whose tenure has ended; we thank them for their foresight and contribution to the growth and development of the Mon Repos Eastern Co-operative Credit Union.
