Dear Valued Members

It is indeed a pleasure to wish you a happy & productive International Credit Union (ICU) Day 2022, on this 74^th Anniversary. Since 1948, credit unions worldwide have been celebrating ICU day on the third Thursday of October.

On Thursday 20^th October, 2022 we join the global credit union movement in celebrating ICU day under the theme “Empower your Financial Future with a Credit Union”.

At the MRECCU we are proud of our record of empowering our members’ financial future. Our Credit Union is a leader in the sector and well known for some of the most affordable financial products. It is with pride that we highlight our current effort to empower our young members, up to 35 years, with our 3.5% interest rate on land loans and 20 years to repay.It is indeed the lowest rate for such a product throughout the entire local financial services landscape.

Today, we express our gratitude to our founders, especially the then hardworking farm workers of the Patience Estate and a group of teachers of the Mon Repos Combined School, between the years 1963 and 1968. The strong values and thrift of this group of community leaders have given rise to this monumental institution that has financially empowered our members and community for over 50 years.

We also recognize the contribution of our employees, directors and committee members past and present. Their time, talent and integrity have built what has become a national institutionupon the solid foundation which was laid down.

Through the patronage, commitment and dedication of our current members, officers and staff, we overcame the challenges of 2020 & 2021 and are once again on course to regain significant growth in all facets of our business. We therefore encourage you our members,to stay on board and invite those who are not yet members, to get on board with MRECCU so as to be financially empowered.
